Is Mylist service free?
YES for you and your guests. If a friend donates AED 100, your list will be credited with AED 100 and you will have AED 100 to spend in the shops.
So how does Mylist earn money?
We have selected partner stores that give us a commission on any purchase you make. Consequently, Mylist service is free for you.
Is there any minimum amount of my list?
No minimum and no maximum amount.
When should I register?
You are welcomed to register at any time, free of charge.
- For a wedding list - It is generally acceptable to register shortly after getting engaged. This is great for guests who would like to purchase a gift for any pre-wedding celebration -- engagement parties, showers, brunches -- or for people who would simply like to send something as a token of their congratulations. If you do register on engagement, be sure to update your Wishlist 3 to 4 months before your wedding to ensure that you have the opportunity to have all the latest seasonal trends.
- For a birth list - You might want to register before the birth as you might be very busy on and after the Big Day. Please, make sure you update your list as soon as you know the gender of your baby to let your friends and relatives shower you with appropriate gifts.
- For a group gift - We strongly recommend that you create your list at least 2-3 weeks prior to the event, in order to give your guests the opportunity to contribute. However, it is possible to create the list until the very last day, but you will not have time to buy the gift in our partner stores. In such cases, we can provide you with a personnalised card to print at home and to offer on the date of the event.
How many items should I register for?
Always request more items than the number of people on your guest list. Your guests will appreciate the choice. Be sure to register for items in a wide range of prices, so that people can choose gifts within their means.
How much will I get on my list?
It depends on the number of guests, the type of event and of course the amount of your guests’ donations. However, please bear in mind that a nice list will certainly please your guests.
What should I do if my family and friends live abroad?
The aim of this website is to help your family and relatives to offer you gifts, even if they do not live close to you, or are not planning to visit you soon. For this purpose, MyList.ae offers you a secured online payment process by Credit Card or via Paypal and thus enables you to make a donation from anywhere in the world.
In which currency will I pay on the website?
Prices are in dirhams (AED).
If you pay with your credit card, you will be invoiced in dirhams (AED). You will be redirected to a secured payment gateway of Mashreq Bank.
However, if you pay via Paypal, you will be invoiced in US Dollars (US $) (a multi-currency converter is available before purchasing the gift).
I tried to pay online using my credit card and it did not work. What should I do?
Your payment can be denied for multiple reasons:
- payment can be made through credit card only; debit cards are not allowed;
- if you are living outside the UAE, your local bank may consider this transaction as suspect or unusual and refuse it. You should contact your bank to allow them to purchase on our website.
In that case, you can pay via Paypal or contact us to find a solution.
Will I know who gave each gift?
For any gift you receive, you will receive a notification by email indicating which guest bought you which item (with a reminder of its price) and delivering you his message.
You can also check online at any time: just visit www.mylist.ae and log in Manage my list. As part of our service to you, we will be updating a thank you list, indicating which guest bought you which item, their email addresses and their messages as this will help you with your thank you cards.
Can anybody access my list?
It depends which option you have selected at the beginning: either your list is public or you list may be password protected. In this case, it is up to you to keep that password confidential. If you feel that there has been a breach of confidentiality, you can contact us online or by phone at any time.
What if I forget my password?
You will be sent an email on registering, which will tell you what your username and password are. We suggest that you keep this in a safe place. You can request a new password reminder via email from the website, www.mylist.ae. This reminder will be sent to the email address that was inputted at time of registration.
How should I collect my gifts?
We will provide you with purchase vouchers and you can go and pay with them in any partner store of your choice. For more information, please read our purchasing process.
Am I limited by the gifts I put on my list?
You can purchase any kind of item in the partner stores. If you selected a chair on your wishlist and you want to buy a jewel instead, it is up to you (subject to availability in the selected partner store).
Can I create and manage my registry online?
Yes. You can create and manage your registry online any time, day or night.
I don’t know where to start with my list. How should I proceed?
On our website, we provide you with lists of must-have items adapted to your event. Moreover, as soon as you register a list with MyList, you are entitled to a free appointment with one of our team, who will provide you with useful advice and guidance.
How can I inform my family and friends?
You can fill in the email list of recipients online, and MyList will notify your friends and family of your upcoming special event date. This message will also include your welcome text and a convenient link for the recipients to view your list. You can also inform your friends by sharing the link on your Facebook or Twitter pages.
Can I change the gifts and/or the quantities I have requested on my list?
Provided that the gifts haven’t already been bought in stores, you can change the gifts and/or the quantities you have requested at any time by logging to your account.
Once a gift has been purchased, terms and conditions of return and exchange vary depending on each store.
Do I have to buy the remaining items on my list if they are not sold?
No, but you can if you want to.
Can gifts be purchased online?
No, not yet but this service will be available to you soon.
Is it possible to deliver my gift?
Once a gift has been purchased, terms and conditions of delivery vary depending on each partner store.
I live in Dubai. Is it possible to purchase a gift in Abu Dhabi?
Yes, you can shop in any partner store anywhere in the UAE.
The amount I collected on my list is below the price of the item I would like to purchase. What should I do?
You are able to add the extra amount required online or in store.
Is it possible to have more than one list?
Of course! Creating a list for you or for someone else can be done for many reasons such as wedding, birth, birthday, farewell party etc. If you already have a list and would like to create another one, log in to your account and click on “Create a new list” .
I want to contribute to a group gift or offer a gift in a list opened on your website. How do I find a specific list?
You can search for a registry under the owner’s first name, last name or the event date online, www.mylist.ae. However, some lists are protected with a password.
